We are delighted to announce the winners of our Easter at Bath Photo Competition. Students were invited to submit a photo with a short caption under one of three themed categories for a chance to win a £100 Bath Gift Card. The response was overwhelming, and we were truly inspired by the creativity and storytelling in every entry.
This year’s Easter at Bath Photo Competition invited students to submit a photo and caption under one of three themed categories, each exploring a different aspect of student life:
- My Hidden Bath: for international students, highlighting unseen or surprising corners of Bath and campus.
- Living the Sustainable Lifestyle: open to all students, focusing on personal or collective actions towards sustainability.
- Belonging at Bath: open to all students, exploring what makes you feel at home in the University or city.
Meet the Winners
The winners were announced by the Mayor of Bath at our joint exhibition with Bath Spa University on Thursday 8 May at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institute.

Winner: ‘Hidden Skyline Trails’ by Feilian Du
Commentary: There are many trails across Bath, so rarely used, that they’ve sprouted in spring. We found this one by following an opening in the bush. After a short walk in the shade of new leaves, before us was this single blade of sunlight, cut sharply through the trees. We soaked in its warmth for a moment before continuing on our way. These rhythms remind me of a place I briefly called home, deep in the mountains of China.
Belonging at Bath

Winner: ‘Blue Skies, Flowers and a Friend’ by Shereena Yoon
Commentary: In my first year here, everything felt unfamiliar and foreign. Coming from a tropical country, the scarcity of sunshine and baldness of trees made winter even colder. But in the cold winter months I’ve found warmth in friendships. Having a friend who seeks to listen, affirm & understand me, my culture, and my homesickness has made all the difference. Now I can say Bath feels a lot more like home. This spring I am grateful for blue skies, blooming flowers, and a warm friend who has welcomed me with open arms, making Bath now a home to miss.
Sustainable Lifestyle
Sponsored by the Sustainability and Climate Action Team
Winner: ‘Reflections of Change’ by Manali Kotecha
Commentary: Standing behind the glass, beneath the poster, the University appeared - like it was part of the message itself. It feels symbolic of Bath looking inward, seeing its reflection in the values it's choosing to stand by: less waste, less meat, and more mindful ways of living. As a vegetarian, those values echo choices I've made - small steps that feel personal but carry weight. Seeing my university reflect those same efforts makes me feel part of something bigger. A sustainable future isn't just imagined. It's reflected in what we choose to stand behind and what we're willing to change.
